How much of the FOB price will the farmer get paid?

The farmer will get paid the FOB price minus any services necessary to move his or her coffee from farm to over the rails of the ship. The 'free on board' price can include an export fee, broker fee, and any partnership fees needed to promote and sell the coffee.
For example, in the Brazil select program the advertised $4.20/lb FOB price, farmers will take home approximately $3.36/lb. This per pound price accounts for fees for service from M-Cultivo, Alliance for Coffee Excellence, the Brazil Specialty Coffee Association, and the exporter.
